The Bournemouth Echo has reported this week that the multi-million-pound expansion of Bournemouth Airport is on track and within budget.

The article reports that the £45million redevelopment project has been boosted by a £13million cash injection from owners Manchester Airport group, putting the project back on track after several months of delays. It is believed that several phases may even be completed as early as March.

Work on the development scheme had been postponed when the New Forest National Park Authority applied to the High Court for a judicial review of the decision to grant permission for the expansion, but after a High Court judge ruled against the opposition, work at Bournemouth Airport has truly ‘taken off”!

Rob Goldsmith, managing director of Bournemouth Airport, is quoted by the Echo as saying: “Despite the recent spell of bad weather, everyone has worked hard to ensure that this project stays of schedule.

“During this work our emphasis is obviously on the safety and security of our passengers, as well as maintaining high levels of customer service during the redevelopment process.”
